Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Big Red Tickets?
Big Red Tickets is a small business operating from offices in Kansas City, Missouri—providing premium seating for any event nationwide.  We are a ticket broker operating in the secondary market; we do not represent any box office and generally do not sell tickets at face value.  We have been in business for over seven years, satisfying thousands of clients.  Most ticket companies, including several of the ones you may have already seen on the internet, simply resell other brokers’ tickets at a mark up.  While we can provide that service to clients who require exact seat locations and tickets that are available for immediate delivery; our specialty is providing concierge service by establishing an ongoing relationship with our clients to provide them the best possible seats, to be delivered in the future, at a price our clients are comfortable paying today.  Working with you, we establish parameters for the type of seat you are willing to sit in and the price you want to pay.  As the event approaches we acquire tickets, assign you tickets that are comparable or better, and then deliver them either by Federal Express or in-person in the city of the event.

Why should I buy tickets from Big Red Tickets?
Whether you buy inventory that is in-hand today or place an advance order; we provide great seats and great service.  Purchasing from our selection of in-hand inventory allows you to get tickets with exact locations delivered immediately; however, these tickets are usually more expensive than tickets that will be delivered later.  You can save significantly by placing an advance order with Big Red Tickets, and with the advance order you have the power to choose the type of seats you want at a price you are comfortable paying—even if the event is sold-out and regardless of when the tickets are distributed.  Our policy of providing comparable or better seating means that you always receive tickets at least as good as you order, and frequently the seats are upgraded, often substantially.  Regardless of whether you purchase in-hand inventory or an advance order, Big Red Tickets charges no service fees and is competitively priced in comparison to other tickets you will see at the time you place your order.

What is Comparable or Better Seating?
When you place an advance order for tickets, the advertised seat description and/or seat description on the invoice sets the minimum parameter for the type of seats you will receive.  By placing an advance order; you are consenting to seat substitution as defined by our comparable or better seating policy.  Comparable or better seating is defined as: (a) tickets in a lower row of the same or equivalent section; (b) or tickets in a lower row in a section of the same stadium/arena level that is closer to the center of the stadium (i.e. 50 yard line, midcourt line, center ice, home plate).  Unless explicitly noted in either the advertised seat description or the seat description on the invoice, comparable or better seating is not affected by team affiliations and does not include a specific side of the stadium (i.e. team side) or a specific view of anything other than the playing field, (i.e. the band, scoreboards, video boards, or surroundings outside the stadium etc).  This is a unique service that Big Red Tickets provides to our clients, and the possibility of free upgraded seats should be seen as one of the advantages to placing the advance order.  Big Red Tickets will try to accommodate special requests or considerations; however, you should contact Big Red Tickets, preferably prior to, but certainly immediately after, placing the advance order.
If you absolutely require certain, unique seats in an exact location DO NOT place an advance order; please contact us to discuss other options for in-hand inventory.

Why doesn’t Big Red Tickets always guarantee an exact seat location at the time of purchase?
If you place an advance order, we cannot guarantee an exact seat location.  There are many possible reasons depending on the specific event:  the tickets are not yet in-hand; exact seating locations may not yet be assigned by our vendors; the tickets may not yet have been distributed by the venue and acquired by Big Red Tickets; and as more tickets become available, we may simply acquire better seats.  Placing an advance order with Big Red Tickets is similar to the customer experience with a hotel or rental car company.  Customers place reservations for a certain class of room or car; however, those customers may end up in a higher class of room or car on the day they show up.  Similarly, we take payment for the advance order up-front and guarantee that clients will receive tickets for the event that are at least as good as what we advertised and negotiated at the time of the order.

How can I be sure Big Red Tickets will deliver my tickets?
We understand that ordering tickets requires some trust by our clients.  We are big sports fans ourselves, and we understand the importance of these events in the lives of our clients.  We are extremely proud of our business and plan on earning your business in the future by providing tickets that meet or exceed your expectations.  Big Red Tickets has never failed to deliver tickets to a client for an event.  You don’t have to take our word for it—please take a moment and view what thousands of people have said about the experience of doing business with us.  eBay feedback is completely transparent; we cannot filter any of our client’s comments or cherry-pick only the positive ones.  As you can see the testimonials are overwhelming positive, and the years of available data should give you confidence that you will have a similarly positive experience.

How will I get my tickets?
Tickets marked as “in-hand” or “ships today” will typically ship by Federal Express the same business day that the order is placed.   Advance order tickets will be delivered at a date in the future—typically 3-10 days before the event.  Our invoices include our best estimate of the delivery of the tickets.  Every ticket we ship will ship via Federal Express.  In some circumstances, we will make arrangements for you to pick up the tickets at or near the venue on day of the event.
We know that many of our clients travel to the event, and many of our tickets ship close to the event date.  Consequently, we are experienced at coordinating delivery to clients with travel plans that take them away from home during the delivery period.  Regardless of whether tickets are shipped by Federal Express or local pick-up is arranged we guarantee the arrival of the tickets in time for the event.  In our seven years of business, we have never had a client miss an event because we shipped the tickets to a location they had already departed from.  For a typical event, our procedure includes the following steps:

  • In the weeks leading up to the event we communicate with you via email to ensure we have the best contact information.
  • We will contact you by phone the day that we receive the tickets in order to confirm your ability to take a shipment at your billing address or will make other delivery arrangements as necessary.
  • We will not ship your tickets the week of the event without contacting you first.
  • If necessary local pick up at an office near the venue will be arranged. Your shipping charges will be refunded if we do not send your tickets via FedEx.

When is my order complete & final?
We have our tickets listed on any many different sales outlets:  eBay, our website, as well as affiliated websites.  Therefore, each request we receive is reviewed by our staff to confirm seat availability and pricing accuracy.  Once you place your request, Big Red Tickets will verify the inventory listing, process your payment and email you an invoice.  Please review the invoice for accuracy of price, seat location, contact information, shipping details and our terms and conditions.  We ask that you sign and return the invoice.  Once we have received your signed copy of the invoice then we have a contract in place for the delivery of tickets.

How does Big Red Tickets get tickets?
We operate in the secondary ticket market.  We have no affiliation or special relationship with primary ticketing agents such as TicketMaster or individual ticket box offices.  We do not buy any of our tickets from box office sources prior to the public sale of the tickets.  While we buy some tickets through normal public sales, the vast majority of our tickets are purchased on the secondary market through networking with ticket brokers, season ticket holders, and private parties looking to sell their tickets.

What determines the price of the tickets?
Big Red Tickets operates on the secondary market for tickets—the price we set for tickets is determined primarily by prevailing market conditions based on supply and demand at the time of purchase.  Because we have no affiliation or special relationship with primary ticketing agents such as TicketMaster or individual ticket box offices the concept of “face value” has no relevance in the pricing of our tickets.
Ticket prices can fluctuate wildly even over the course of a few hours as the event date approaches.  Sometimes prices go up; sometimes prices go down.  Frequently, the market price will rise and fall at different points as the event approaches.
The advantage of an advance order is that you get to lock in a price you are comfortable paying regardless of those fluctuations.  Even if the price skyrockets between the time of purchase and the event, we will honor our contract with you—we will provide the tickets you ordered without asking you for more money.

  • However, the converse is also true—if prices fall as the event approaches we expect our clients to honor our contract.  We cannot offer refunds or cancellations in a market where the price is declining.  The price you paid at the time of purchase reflects the value you placed on the tickets.

Does Big Red Tickets charge service fees?
No—Big Red Tickets does not charge service fees ever.  This is the prevailing way that many ticket websites make their money, but we do not charge these fees.  Consequently, this saves our clients a minimum of 10% to 15% over our competitors.
